How to Apply for Clearance to Transfer a Deceased Inmate's Body

This service allows eligible relatives of a deceased inmate to formally request the release of the body for burial. The request is processed through the relevant correctional authorities in accordance with established procedures.

Steps to apply for this service

Step 1: Visit IremboGov at new.irembo.gov.rw and log in to your account. If you don’t have one, click here to learn how to create one.

Step 2: Under correctional services, select the "Clearance to Transfer a Deceased Inmate's Body” service.

Step 3: Click “Apply” to start the application process.

Step 4: Fill in the inmate’s details

Step 5: Fill in the Representative details

Step 6: Upload the required documents in the correct format and click continue

Step 7: Verify that the information is accurate; enter a phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click "create an application."

Step 8: An application number (C2…...) to track your application status.
